Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Burlo (“Burlo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website at burloapp.com, our web portal, and our mobile applications (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Who we are
Burlo provides business management tools for field-service and coating businesses, including job scheduling, client records, crew and timesheets, estimates, materials, and related features. For privacy questions, contact us through our Contact page.
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and business information — such as business name, owner or crew member name, email address, phone number, role, address, and login credentials.
- Customer and job data you enter — client contact details, job addresses, schedules, estimates, materials, notes, photos, timesheets, and similar business records you choose to store in Burlo.
- Billing information — payment method details are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive subscription status, customer and subscription identifiers, and related billing metadata. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Device and usage information — such as IP address, browser type, device type, app version, approximate location derived from IP, and logs related to access, errors, and security.
- Communications — messages you send us (for example through the contact form) and transactional emails related to your account.
- Optional integrations — if you connect a third-party service (such as Google Calendar), we process the data needed to provide that integration according to your settings and the third party’s terms.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- Create and manage accounts, trials, and subscriptions
- Process payments and send billing-related notices
- Authenticate users and protect against fraud or abuse
- Send service communications (activation, password reset, invitations, trial or payment notices)
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
We do not sell your personal information.
4. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate Burlo (for example hosting, email delivery, and payment processing), under obligations to protect the data
- Your organization — owners and authorized managers/crew within a business account can access data associated with that business according to their role
- Legal and safety — when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections
Clients and other third parties you choose to communicate with through the Service (for example estimate responses) may receive information you intentionally share with them.
5. Data you control
You and your business are responsible for the client, job, crew, and related records you upload or enter. You should only enter information you have the right to use, and you should configure access (owners, managers, crew) appropriately for your organization.
6. Retention
We retain account and Service data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal data associated with the account within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example billing records) for legal or legitimate business purposes.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).
9. International users
If you access the Service from outside the country where our systems are hosted, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where we or our providers operate.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Update profile and account information in the Service where available
- Request help through our Contact page
- Cancel or deactivate your subscription/account using account controls or by contacting us
11. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website and portal may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for login sessions, security, and basic site operation. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect login or other features.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
